The Rockhampton Grammar School

Showcasing Australian education to Asia through virtual reality

With more than 1,300 students of all ages and backgrounds, The Rockhampton Grammar School is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in Australia. But most parents in Asia haven’t heard of Rockhampton, let alone the school. Our brief was to help convince parents in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo to send their most precious possession to a faraway and unknown place.

The solution

The school’s leadership decided to take The Rockhampton Grammar School directly to Asia with a series of promotional visits. They asked us to provide the material. The centerpiece of our multi-lingual campaign was a virtual reality tour. Working with our production partner, we scripted and produced a VR experience to explore the school’s spectacular campus. We also drafted and designed a comprehensive prospectus, which included a Mandarin version with content specifically tailored for Chinese audiences.

The result

International student numbers have already risen significantly in the first year of the campaign. The VR experience and prospectus has been viewed thousands of times and school management tells us they’re delighted with the return on investment.
