The a2 Milk Company (a2MC) is an extraordinary business with a unique proposition. Founded in 2000, the company expanded from a purely domestic fresh milk play into one of New Zealand’s largest companies, supplying fresh milk and nutritional dairy products to ANZ, China, the United States and other key global markets.
Following a transformational year of growth in 2017-2018, The a2 Milk Company approached us to refine its annual reporting and investor relations collateral to an increasingly sophisticated shareholder base. Working in partnership with key executives, BWD devised a report focused on how a2MC was delivering on its promise to build shareholder value over the long term.
In 2019 and 2020, the company returned to BWD to assist in communicating the next phase of growth. Messaging focused on how the business was executing as successfully as ever, including through increased marketing and R&D spend and expanded distribution and supply partnerships.
The 2021 Annual Report suite was produced amid the COVID-19 pandemic and global disruption, bringing uncertainty to markets. In true a2MC fashion, and under new leadership, the bold messaging focused on the long-term value a2MC offers to stakeholders. This was highlighted with an enhanced sustainability strategy, while continuing to support the company’s core purpose, enriching lives by harnessing the nutritional wonders of nature.
