Driven by an intense sense of curiosity and a passion for making life better for others, Gabriela is always seeking to learn more about the world and apply it to life and work. With formal training in neuroscience and cognitive science, she’s naturally drawn to complex jobs – which have included managing an adolescent behavioural health program and hospital work during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her interest in complex systems took her to sustainability, where she completed a Masters in Sustainability Solutions at Arizona State University. During her degree she was involved with student-led efforts to integrate sustainability into the university’s endowment given its mission to support the university in perpetuity.

Gabriela grew up between the United States and the Peruvian city of Arequipa, known for its distinctive white volcanic stone buildings and the unnerving reality of being surrounded by three volcanoes!
