With degrees in business, engineering, and law, Ian operates at the intersection of finance, technology, policy, and climate change. Driven by a desire to create a better future, Ian has worked with a range of Asset Managers, ESG Funds, Policy Makers and Start-ups to align economic and environmental outcomes, build relationships, and grow stakeholder value as we transition to a climate resilient, decarbonised economy.
Ian’s experience includes working with several climate change-focused NGOs and Private companies, with clients and partners ranging from institutional capital investors to Small Lying Pacific Island States, to whom climate change is truly an existential threat. He has facilitated climate technology investments at venture and growth equity stages and has led capital raising initiatives, including devising impact frameworks dedicated to measuring social and environmental impact. Beyond his role with BWD, Ian contributes to policy advocacy with the Investor Group on Climate Change and the Responsible Investment Association of Australia and brings a sound understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and taxonomy.
Ian is still basking in the glow of Richmond’s AFL dynasty (you should ask him about it) and loves spending time on adventures with his wife and two young kids, aged one and three. On an unrelated note, Ian would do dirty, dirty things for a full night’s sleep.
