From growing up writing creative stories to a sustained love of reading, Emma started her career as an editor in arts publishing and later moved into environmental communications. She is a strong believer in the power of storytelling and sees strong narratives as a vital component of climate action.

Prior to beginning her consulting journey at BWD, Emma led sustainability education and research initiatives at the University of Sydney. Highlights included teaching people about their impact on the planet through facilitation of Carbon Literacy Training, creating educational resources on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and collaborating with academics on research programs. She also loved working as a tutor to guide students through their postgraduate sustainability studies.

Outside of work, Emma feels at peace in nature, whether at the local national park or away on an adventure. She also loves trying new activities – Muay Thai classes, indoor rock climbing, and camping with friends are some recent discoveries.
